STEM at Missouri Capital

The Missouri Mathematics and Science Coalition’s annual STEM Day at the Capital was held March 7, 2019.  The event  focused on K-12, higher education and STEM programming. Students, businesses and organizations had a chance to share their passion for and knowledge of STEM with Missouri legislators. Educators and administrators demonstrated the impact STEM has on student achievement and how Missouri invests in curriculum, program support and professional development.

Talya Mayfield and Tom Voss represented Continental Cement at the event.  Talya shared her thoughts on the day’s activities.   “It was an amazing event, and I must say that our booth was very popular among the kids!  We demonstrated scientific tools and tricks to engage and teach how cement manufacturing works utilizing the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and math.”
