Continental operations are carefully regulated by state and federal agencies.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, and the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) conduct regular inspections. The facility operates under state, RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act), water, and air permits.
Safety, security, and compliance with government regulations are Continental Cement’s primary concerns.
Certified stack test results indicate a destruction and removal efficiency (DRE) greater than 99.99 percent is achieved. Continuous emission monitors (CEMs) record stack gas data and verify compliance with facility operating requirements. Automatic shutoffs interrupt the flow of waste fuel to the kiln before any parameter can be exceeded.
